L series gearbox problems

today when i was driving my car it got jammed in 5th gear i got it out but now have lost reverse gear and 5th still keeps jamming im going to pull it out soon is this a common problem and easy to fix or do i look for a new box?
its a stumpy L series in my r30

It could be excessive endfloat in the gears, or it could be a bent selector fork. Or a sheared off roll pin on that gearset.
Micheal Van something is a gearbox guy down your way. If you get stuck hit him up.

He does autos
Iv done heaps of courier gearboxes up ill pull it down next week hopefully it's something simple now I have 4 cars that don't go ill have to get my skates on

Easy fix then.
Providing whatever caused the selector fork to break isn't still an issue.
I know of two of two 71b boxes (in bits) that got dumped just recently. (I was too slow to save them)
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............

Yea I'm hoping someone has just abused it over the years and its been cracked and it broke.
Are fj internals the same

If those were RBLUVRs ones ive got them at home - there is a 4 and 5 speed
