I took the head in to Flemings for him to push the valve guides back so I could finish porting it, he got the exhaust guides back alright but broke a couple of the inlet ones, he warned me that it might happen and apparently they were a lot harder to move than usual so he suggested that he remove them all by pushing them in the other direction (into the chamber). I'll probably end up getting some Supertech ones now, they are actually pretty cheap, about $130 for a set of inlet guides.

Keep changing my mind about what to do with this thing, whether to run it with the 20 for a while or finish off the 26. I bought some cam gears which were advertised as Tomei ones but I don't think they are, I really wanted some Jun ones but these ones aren't too bad.

I also bought a low mount RB20 exhaust manifold, I've always wanted a GTS-R manifold but they are hard to come by and expensive, the R31 House manifolds are even more expensive but they look and sound really good. This one was advertised as an equal length steel manifold, I could tell from the pictures there was no way it was equal length but it's not magnetic so is more than likely stainless. The pictures weren't very good and it's got some very poorly done repairs to it, I've ground some of them back and will tig them up. It also had what I think is a T25 flange for some reason? I've chopped that off.

Haven't managed to get this home yet, maybe in the next couple of weeks. I don't have the money at the moment to do much to it but it would be nice to have it here so I can do a few little bits and pieces to it like fit the new front wheels and maybe fit the rear control arm bushes that I've had for like 3 years.

One thing I did buy for the motor is a set of Tomei type A valve springs and retainers which are good for cams with up to 10.85mm lift.

I've been trying to get the other RB26 I've got back together so I can sell it which will pay for pretty much all the stuff I need to finish the motor off. I spent ages and ages shimming the valve buckets then thought I'd better measure the guide wear, the spec for inlet & exhaust is 0.1mm and the exhaust guides have like 0.25 or more so I've ordered a new set of Supertech guides today which will be here in a week or so.

Also bought another 200ZR sump and pickup, not sure why. Might still carry on with putting an RB30 in the silver & maroon car, I need to start thinning the herd a bit I think.

Got a new Suspension Techniques rear sway bar at a really good price thanks to Craig @ Proparts, now I just need a car to put it on!

It's 22mm where the standard one is 19mm. I'm already running a 27mm R31 front sway bar so should work okay with that.
