Kitchs 1200 Coupe - road legal!

I am drawing from each Throttle body (downstream of butterfly) but its only real small path for air (like 3mm od pipe, so prob 2.5mm ID) these connect into a vacuum manifold on firewall to balance up, and then a line goes from there through to ECU on other side of firewall.

Wondering if I best to block these lines off & make new connections half way down inlet runners, with some nice wee hose tails (with decent internal diameter).

Just as well I did not go to trouble of fitting brake booster, like I intended too....

If you unplug the vacuum line from the computer can you get it to read 100Kpa? Might be a faulty map sensor?

The fittings and lines I had on the L series would have only been 3 - 4mm at the most, the manifold I was using had a vacuum "log" built in and I ground out the inside to give it more volume but it still wouldn't work for the computer properly, I used that for the booster and BOV I think?

One thing I did was connect a boost/vacuum gauge up to the vacuum manifold and see what the signal looked like, when I tried it off one runner you could see it pulsing like crazy, off the manifold it got a lot smoother.

fried my fuel pump wiring.

not happy. this custom efi thing is driving me crazy.

thinking how if I stayed with dellortos, I would be driving this car by now.

Totally kitch carbs are so easy to get going but efi gives you power and fuel saving to

Not much to report, after 4 weeks of ignoring the coupe, I took it out of the garage
and down to the boys at Rapid Performance. Jono gave my brake system the once
over and replaced a few dodgey fittings, and got it all sorted. also complete the
exhaust system

I have sent the ECU away to get checked out along with MAP sensor, and my
OEM tacho to get rigged up to the ECU and working properly.

I will need to redo all my fuel pump wiring before I have another crack at startup
when ECU gets back.

When my boat sells on trademe, I can then fund my paint job

Just out of interest? Any reason that you didn't/haven't yet just handed the car over to Rapid and said, "Make it run"? You know Jono will look after you! I got them to tune my "other" car, and it's never given me an issue tune-wise.

Yeah Gaz, one reason: "megasquirt"

that is one ECU that most tuners stay clear of.
I don't know why though, as although the interface maybe slightly different, the principals are all the same. He will look at it for me for sure, but ECU is up in Whangarei being checked out etc. Megasquirts are very adaptable, and have more basic features than some ECU's 2-3x the price.

Kirk just told me if I "hit the wall" with it, he can throw a haltech in it of a grand or so....
