Hi all.
So I have a GA16de engine, ECU and loom, and a Rwd gearbox. All from a Nissan Serena. Is there any reason to rule this engine out for a conversion in a small Datsun.
The throttle body is pointed towards the back of the engine but that could be probably fixed by fitting a Pulsar intake manifold maybe. The distributor being on the back of the head and not in the best spot isn't ideal, but I reckon that could be sorted out too. Engine mounts would probably have to be made, and I can't remember if the gear box hangs from or sits on a cross member, but mounts aren't a issue really. Any conversion would need cert which would cover engine/gearbox mounts anyway.
Surely someone has looked into this in more detail somewhere, or even done it before.
The old GA16de idea.

Hey Gaz
Luke is currently putting one into his 1200 coupe although he did get complete package from another 1200 so mounts were already done. I have heard that an A series gearbox bolts up to the GA16de.
Here is his thread for it http://www.nzdatsun.com/forums/viewtopi ... 6de#p63340" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
