Hey Craig,
If you felt so inclined I could thoroughly recommend Bruce Chisholm in Wanganui. Grumpy old buggar but salt of the earth and one of the most skilled people I know.
Give me a yell if want his contact details.
Cheers
Dave
Bruce Chisholm did the last two rebuilds on my L18 race motor. Ross pistons, offset ground crank, twin plate clutch etc I have been very happy with everything. Bruce and Rodney at Roskilda in Palmy did the dyno tune. If Bruce is not available I am sure Rodney could sort it out.
Good luck Andrew

Ross Kilda was probably were I was going to take it as they tuned the father in laws mk1 escort and I have watched them do it on dyno, they seem good guys and pretty on to it.
Car is going to a guy who is the guru on webers tomorrow to get them sorted for this weekend and is only costing me a very small portion compared to the 2nd mortgage I paid two years ago, can't wait to thrash this thing on sat and run her in.
Well well well after lots of blood sweat and tears I finally got to take the 1600 to the track today. Me and two mates left Hastings at 5:00am this morning and headed to Taupo with Shane in his two door 510 in convoy. Got to the track early passed scrutineering with flying colours and waited for my first skid. Went out the first time for just warm up to get a look at track but I could tell it was not right and engine felt really flat but luckily the guy who tuned it was in Taupo and swung past for a nosey so he started having a muck around with timing and jets which made a big difference.
The track day was by far the best one I've been to and was very well organised with as much time on the track as you like so I managed to get 6 sessions in and was good to take people for a ride. I am overall happy with how the car went as I pretty much beat the shit out of it all day and still managed to drive it on the trailer at the end but it is lacking revs as the diff I have in it is far too tall so I'm after a 4:3 / 4:4 as she only really turned on above 4 grand and I was only just hooking forth at the end of the straight and also some semi slick tyres.
I had a couple of go-pros onboard so will put some footage up
