They refused to pay me a cent since it was signed as "carried at owners risk".2 doors wrote:im not after a pretty penny, but I sure as hell want the money back they charged me, for fucking the roof

Yip, but terms and conditions still apply, they have a duty to take DUE CARE, putting a heavy object on a parcel clearly labelled as a car roof, is not due care. I guess its case by case, But I would have put up some sort of a shit fight if id been in your position.gingofthesouth wrote:They refused to pay me a cent since it was signed as "carried at owners risk".2 doors wrote:im not after a pretty penny, but I sure as hell want the money back they charged me, for fucking the roof

Re: WTF!!!!! / FAIL THREAD
With mainfreight, all non account customers are "owners risk".
I'd borrow money and bet that that box will have been ticked on the consignment note........

Oh, you have misunderstood me. I was just saying they wouldn't pay me a cent, but I hope Wal gets just compensation, or at the very least, gets his freight money back!torqued wrote:Well I am going to go against the flow here Wal and say.

Re: WTF!!!!! / FAIL THREAD
carried it owners risk is gay, opens up an old wound of mine.....
Fastway couriers have "no cover" on second hand car parts,
which is a rule they have due to wreckers sending parts around
the country, and if goods not working or damaged there was no
come back on the carrier.
a few years back I had a mint set of 1200 hubcaps couriered to
me, went missing in transit for 2 weeks, and when they finally
turned up, the box was flat and tire tread across it! needless to
say my mint S/S hub caps were now $180 worth of killer frisbees.
Fastways would not refund me for damage caused, and pointed
me at their policy of carrying second hand car parts was at
owners risk - I called head office etc, and complained and still
no success. Ironinc that had the a-hole that drove over them in
their depot had snuck them into the waste bin them, I would
have been paid out due to lost goods - cuckin funts

Re: WTF!!!!! / FAIL THREAD
The same no cover on 2nd hand car parts policy applies to a lot of courier companies, including NZ Couriers who we use at work. They lost an $800 turbo of mine for about a week and half, because it was rural delivery nobody could actually tell me where it was.
It was just about to magically turn into a brand new $2500 turbo (which would have been covered) then it suddenly got delivered.
