Ive recently purchased a ca18det I will be fitting to my 1200 sedan.
My car currently is running a z18et. Ive heard ca bellhousings fit on to the z gearbox?
If anyone can give me any tips or let me know key things ill have to do that would be great.
Cheers Ben

Re: z18et to ca18det
If you find a belhousing from a single ohc CA18, it should fit straight onto you gearbox.
If you want to fit a belhouisng from a laster twin cam CA, I think you need to swap one of the front bearings, and open up (Or shim down?) one of the selector rod pockets.
I think DJZ has a better idea.

They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............

Yeap Bart's on the right track, I don't know about what kind of lean either gearbox/motor sits on but if you get a later model CA18 bellhousing (from a C series box) you will need to replace the front countershaft bearing with a bigger one and bush the top selector rod hole. I've done a similar thing with an RB bellhousing onto a 280ZX gearbox.
