Fitting a down draft webber to a A15 motor

Post by Meandatto »

Hi

So the plans have changed a little ! I was keen to throw a CA18det in my ute but I think my desire to purchase some land an build a motocross track on it is going to get in the way lol !!

So in saying this I'm going to rebuild my ute and have it looking mint as !! Panel paint suspension interior with a little engine work to my A15.... So I picked up a down draft webber and manifold of trade me it came off another ute.

I'm wondering if anyone has fitted one ? I assume that it should fit straight on considering it came off another ute ... But never assume anything !!

Is their any mods I will have to do with the throttle cable or when I'm mounting it ? Any help would be good

Thanks sean

If the carb and manifold came off a running ute, then it should be straight forward to fit.
But don't be surprised if the carb needs a rejet to run spot on on your motor.

Is it something I can do or have to put it in the shop ?

Can you recommend a workshop ?

a rejet?
That's just trial and error really.
Do a plug chop, and read the plugs.
From memory, they run pretty rich with the jets for a 2ltr pinto engine.
