Karl's 1971 Datsun 240z

Post by 280zx_nz »

So, was quite lucky and came across 71 240z in alot better condition than my last 240z. Does have rust but no where near as bad, no rust in the floors or chassis rails. Passengers side rear guard and lower sill needs to be fixed, the drivers side is pretty good, lower part of the front guard needs to be fixed though. Was taken off the road in 1989 and put into semi dry storage covered.

Moving again soon so can't do too much, can't wait until I can strip it down and get started restoring it.

I plan on keeping it L6 but haven't decided between turbo or High CR with ITBS.

Finally, my dream car... :D

That's the one lol! Knew about it before he listed it so got in quite fast. The intellect in those comments about sums up most of the younger RB crowd in New Zealand

All the electrics still work and it has a decent half cage in it.

Hand throttle !!!! Very rare they are? Has it got the chrome coat hooks? Swiss cheese rear deck or has it got the tools box hatches?

I'll guess the VIN is under 1500, possibly sub 1000.

If you need a second set of S30 tuned eyes to look over it for possible areas to dig, I'll be Dunedin in the 2nd week of August. Happy to help if needed.

Nice find.
