So I bought a set of used A15 off the tard last night. (For a "one day" A12 1400cc stroker)
The slugs look to have a bit of carbon on the sides by the pin bosses. Whats the best way to get them clean, without using abrasives which might remove material from the pistons them selves?

Soak in WD40, it turns the carbon all soft then you can pretty much wipe it off.

That gasket stripper is pretty much just paint stripper in a can. (Methyl chloride based)
It does work a treat too.
Cheers for the ideas guys.
