Help... what ID tags SHOULD my 1200 pick up have...??

Post by Seedy Al »

hey guys

So I have had a little b120 ute for a few years now, mainly just sitting in the back ground of my garage, waiting for me to get round to getting it back on the road.

That time is now. So the mission is starting.
one of the hurdles I need to over come, is that although my pick up is on hold, the id Tags have long been lost in collections of parts and bits and being moved 3 times.......

So, what ID plates etc (should there be anything stamped onto the shell it self??) should my B120 have??? Its NZ New 1976.

Any help, would be great. Don't want to get throught the process of getting this all legal to have someone go, hey, the shit is this crap with your ID tags.

Allan you cunt.
As grant says, there is only one tag riveted on to the engine bei.
"Kitch" actually had some repro ute tags made. (I think) so it should be no biggie to have one made/buy one. Then just stamp in your ute's deets, and do skids.
it would say someting like,
chassis number GB120XXXXX (give of take)
Engine number A12XXXXXXXX(etc)
wheelbase XXXXXX
Horsepower 69hp@6000rpms

And maybe some other shit too.
Only japan assembled cars had the chassis number stamped into the firewall. (Actually the front wall of the heater plenium chamber) but you should be al G. Odds are all the numbers you need to produce a repro tag could be found on the rgo papars, or buy a carjam report at a pinch.
See you at Hanmer!

Ok that is what I thought. There are two types available. ..
One is just a silver tag the other is black with yokohama on it...

Any one guess which would be the right one to use??

Although that one you have described sounds like the black one.

Yeah something like that.
Although I'm sure it should be Gb120.
Unless it's a short wheelbase?
