DJZ's DR30 Skyline
Re: DJZ's DR30 Skyline
Do you have any info on the prw2 conversion? I'm also keen to give it a try. I haven't been able to find anything that relates to the fj20 online - it seems to be real common with the Z owners

I'll take some pictures for you, I haven't actually finished off the wiring yet, it's only twisted together to test it haha.

I've got a pair of 4 stud dr30 rotors if you want them? No use to me just taking up space on the floor
Re: DJZ's DR30 Skyline
I managed to get the dust seal back on properly the other night, I had to pull the caliper piston all the way out so hopefully it doesn't start leaking.
Got the rear end 99% finished today, just have to give it another bleed. The left hand side was nightmare to get back together, the right hand side was a nightmare to get apart but I got there in the end. Hopefully the bearing retaining compound helps prevent any movement and these ones don't wear out!
I changed the rear brake pads while I was at it, it had on it what are quite possibly the originals(!) from the factory, they had Tokico on the back of them. The shims were rusted all the way through in a couple of places so I didn't refit them.
Need to finish up the wiring for the ignitor swap then try for a warrant. I might have to replace the tyres on this as well which I can't afford right now or borrow the wheels off the Laurel for the warrant.

It's a sad day but I've listed this on Trademe this evening, we'll see if there is much interest at the price I've put it up for. To move forward with either of the other Zs (and life in general) something needs to go.

I hope so too, I've had a little bit of interest so far which is good.
Re: DJZ's DR30 Skyline
After driving it for the first time in a while on Saturday I thought I'd try and adjust the steering box again on this today and end up jamming it up somehow, after pulling the box out and pulling the top off I can't figure out how it would lock up, it's loose now though. Will try and find a replacement (better) box instead of putting this one back in.
Re: DJZ's DR30 Skyline
don't suppose the steering lock came on while you were mucking around with it?
