Re: Beaver's 120y coupe
Yeah man, Sherie is picking me up from the airport and if Dominic comes he should be able to give me a lift back into town as I'll be staying with him anyway.
Re: Beaver's 120y coupe
Right, back from holiday so time to get my shit sorted. Wof ran out a few months back so have decided to commit to getting everything done and legal over winter.
So list is:
Purchase tyres (175/50R13s if anyone has some lying about?)
Finish front coil overs (ie get welded up) and chuck in with camber plates and figure out decent height
Sort out rear ride height - reset leaves as required
Cert
Still runs like a sack so no idea whats going on there.

Re: Beaver's 120y coupe
Small update. Got new tyres (175/50s) and fitted up
Obviously needs lowering some more. Struts should be welded this week and then can crack into setting front height to suit. looks like 1.5" up front and 1" in the back will do the trick.

Mean, bring it to Petone some time so I can have a perv!
My orangatang 510 here.
Re: Beaver's 120y coupe
I think this is how it works?
After a fair bit of fucking around, looks like I need to shorten the shocks which is a pain. Got to pay the cost to be the boss though. Managed to fuck one of my sleeves so waiting for another to arrive then I can mock up both sides and check the height again. And I think my springs are waaaaaaaaaay to stiff, there is pratically no droop (they are 5.5 kg/mm). Might grab some closer to 3 kg/mm

Re: Beaver's 120y coupe
That height looks mean as!
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............
Re: Beaver's 120y coupe
Been chipping away, set car with chassis rails 45 mm off the ground (will come up as its a bit silly haha), wheels turn and no metal on metal action which is a bonus! Will get sleeves welded in place and shocks shortened to suit then its onto the back
Re: Beaver's 120y coupe
Got front end back together and went for a drive!
Almost had a rage quit when I realised the hubs and brakes from the original struts and the pair I cut up were different. So I had to swap the discs from the factor struts over to the other hub. Easy enough but yeh. Anyway got it all together
Need to drop the back 20 mm to match the front. Currently has no blocks so will machine the 50mm ones I have down to suit.
Took chunks out of the driveway so may have to lift the front up a bit, will see where it is making contact. Pretty sure its the front of the chasis rails

Re: Beaver's 120y coupe
looks good! That's about the height I want the coupe to sit!
Re: Beaver's 120y coupe
Cheers man! Yeh I think the front is about perfect, still room for tyres lock to lock, no sure about at speed but will find out eventually. I may have to make a bit of room for the sway bar as its very close to the inner guard rail thingy but easy enough if required.
Once I Have the back sorted its just the final cert related stuff to sort, ie drive shaft hoop, crack testing of struts etc.
