When I first got lighting (Red sedan) when I got it home I said to the guy following me it felt strange in the handling, later I found I or the person before me had broken the tie-rod and this is not the first story I have heard of this especially if lowered.

what the plan was for the future (doing coilovers and brake upgrade) was to have more thread tapped on the tierods in order to pull the wheel further forward but also have a ball joint set up on the bottom arms (bottom arm to cross member) added so there is no stress there. The sway bar would possibly have to have a new hole machined so the sway bar pedestals are still vertical.

I know what you are saying here and what you are proposing is exactly what I had done to mine ( as well as I chap that I had been helping with a coupe ). The problem is that they still break and when they go with the spherical bearing on the bottom arm it flies straight back into the rear of the inner guard if that little swaybar pedestal can't hold it.
I had an engineer/ race car fabricator look at mine and he worked out very quickly that the angles for the castor ( radius ) rods was all wrong and they were being unduly loaded up. Also when you cut an extended thread on the radius rod you will weaken it.
So the solution was to fizz the original raduius rod mounts off the front chassis rail and mount new ones in the correct position that were designed to take a rod end that screwed into the end of a slightly shortened radius rod. This works mint and ( touchwood) I have never had an issue as well as the car handles like its on rails.
Did you look up the Pit Road website? Also have a look at Datsun1200.com under suspension and there are some pics there of the Pit Road conversion.

Ahhh I understand - as of the bend in the radius/tie rod and having it all forward would put stress on that area.

Have had a look at the Pit Road site and have looked at their b110/b310 'A arm' set up.
Very interesting having adjustable radius rods but makes sense to avoid stress

Early front Dizzy motor too, what are your plans for it?

Not really sure. Trying to find out if they fit into a 120y? I think the engine mounts are further back on it or something ? Mate has a cam for one ready to go.
It came from a friend of a friend who was going to put it in a suzuki 4wd but it never happened
