I am restoring my wife's old 1973 Datsun 610 that I found for her when we met. The car says "Datsun1800" on the sides, not "Datsun610". Long ago a Datsun dealer said he thought the car was from Canada.
I saw, in a google search, a photo of a Datsun light switch that looked like my old one (the tag to the photo said: nzdatsun.com). My old push-pull switch has an illuminated center (fiber optic I am told), there is a green background and white headlight symbol. Do these exist in New Zealand? I am also having a difficult time find a new Headlight Relay. Do these exist? Does station wagon rear door weatherstripping exist there? I have been told repeatedly, here in the USA, that new replacement weatherstripping for the station wagon does not exist.
Thank you,
Donald

Not much difference if any between these parts for a 510 or 610.
Cheers,
Bernie.
Re: Datsun 610 Station Wagon, 1973
Thanks for trying to help, but our 1973 Datsun 610 wagon (actually made 9/72) has a headlight relay that is different from the link (510) suggested.
Still wonder about the NZDatsun photo of the green & white push-pull light switch.
Could anyone tell me exactly where the fuse(able) links are on a 610?

Re: Datsun 610 Station Wagon, 1973
I am attempting to post photos of my 1973 Datsun 610 project (made 9/72). If I have done something incorrect, please let me know the proper way to post photos. We bought the car used circa 1979. When my wife bought a one year old Camry in 1999, I parked the Datsun behind our house. I am responsible for the neglect and every single dent and bash the car received. For the last ten years I was slowly restoring my Fiat 124 convertible (it is in the background in one photo). My first restoration 1975) was a 1965 German Opel.
Thank you,
Donald

I do hope that everyone understands that I do not plan to keep the Datsun 610 in that beautiful primer gray. The goal is to use a single stage paint mixed to the original Datsun yellow colour. I just temporarily put the tail light on the left corner just to show I actually found one! I found that I could sand the clouded surface off the right tail light and use polishes to restore it to an acceptable red color.
I'll be darned if I can find any dark brown seat covers, can't even find dark brown generic covers.
It was great to find your NZ site and see what everyone is doing.
Thanks,
Donald
