Yeah man, I think I've got another spare pair that I got off someone on here (maybe Adam?) that had the original flanges redrilled to 5 stud, but they might not even be Z ones. You can wreck things pretty fast with hydraulic presses!
Who has a set of companion flanges to suit CV axles that they want to give me? Or just one of them.

What size spline?
Nissan used two different sizes.
I have three sets of replica flanges.

And that's why all the yanks with 510s burn their bushes out
I've got the flanges off the C32 parts car still, they're 3x2 R31 style so a bit bigger than the R30/910 etc ones. Will they do?

I've got a set of R31 ones, was hoping to not have to change the stub axles so small spline ones would be best. Bart, will yours be certifiable?

Paint them black, who would know?
I don't really know if they'd need cert? They aren't actually a suspension part as such.
they're a uni joint style flange, with the square part turned off. then a new flange made up, spigoted on true, and fizzed together buy an extremely competent welder. (A mate of Dads who is a pretty accomplished welded) The beads look very nice too.

Was it this one? Give him a bellDJZ wrote: There was a whole 910 IRS rear end on Trademe the other day for $100 but the guy withdrew it while I was thinking about it, I would like to do CVs while the rear end is apart too.

Yeah, I asked him and he said he sold it to his mate. Bummer for me!
Re: DJZ's other other 2 seater 280ZX
So an R180 clutch LSD just happened to pop up on Trademe, it's a later model K stamped 4.11:1 diff, not 100% sure what it's out of but it's probably a Subaru STI diff.
Has anybody swapped the bits the axles bolt to into an LSD centre? I've seen pictures of it done to an open centre.

You have got my attention.
I have a R180 VLSD 4.44:1 subaru diff that I have had sitting round for years. But I could never decide if it was worth the effort being vlsd and maybe the ratio is too high?
to get to my point I would consider parting with it if its any use to you. I have the subaru half shafts aswell

Re: DJZ's other other 2 seater 280ZX
Probably not much use sorry man, I bought the clutch lsd, I can either use the original axles from the Z or some of the CV ones that I've got if I get some CV companion flanges.
Thanks man, I'll take all the help I can get.
I had another go at welding up my manifold bits after work and the water cooler for the torch really helped, previously the torch was getting so hot I couldn't hold it even with a glove on but now it doesn't get hot at all. I also changed to a gas lense which seemed to help as well. It looks ugly but I'm pretty sure it will seal, well enough for what I'm doing anyway. I could probably weld inside the runners too once I've ground it all out.
