Re: Kitchs 1200 Coupe - PAINTED AT LAST!!!!!!!
Since the 2K cup car is parked up with an exploded clutch after last weekends hiding I gave it, I have given the coupe a bit of loving over the long weekend.....
Completely fitted out passenger door, with new inner & outer window seals, new bailey channel kit & new main door seal.
stoked with how well it came out, and has a nice 'thunk' noise it makes when I close it, thanks to all the dynamat & new seals.
Have just reused the old ventilator rubbers & chrome latch & frame (which is tired) figure I will keep an eye out for NOS replacement parts and replace at later stage. Will try to get the drivers door underway this afternoon time permitting
Finished fitting out seatbelts & interior trim in boot, adjusted latches etc, just need to fit sun visors & rear view mirror and fit the plastic heater hoses & clamp to heater pull wire and that is the interior done.
My car restorer mate who has far more patience than me spent a few hours fitting the chrome trim to the new window rubbers and fitting in place. Being aftermarket rubbers they are not perfect, but will be OK with some tactically placed window RTV seal in the corners.
Unfortunately the front windscreen has shitload of tiny scratches & swirl marks on both sides of the screen, will have to talk to a glass specialist and establish if you can polish/buff the glass to make it look better
