DJZ's 280ZX
Re: DJZ's 280ZX
I'm pretty much only driving this thing one day a week at the moment and after driving it today and stalling it twice I thought I'd have a go at adjusting the clutch, had to play with all three adjustments, even the one they don't mention in the factory service manual even though it's labelled an "adjuster" in the exploded diagram, I haven't driven it further than the driveway to the garage but it seems to be better, I'll have to take it for a proper test drive tomorrow night.

When I showed him your flywheel, Tony did say they were a rather street unfriendly clutch.......
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............
Re: DJZ's 280ZX
Yeah I'd agree with that! Won't be keeping it for the final motor, might try a Nismo or OSG or ORC clutch.
Re: DJZ's 280ZX
Took the car for a decent drive tonight, clutch is much better now. Could probably adjust it slightly more but I think the push rod from the master was going to start hitting on the pedal so I'd have to shorten the rod slightly. Will leave that for another day.

Re: DJZ's 280ZX
nice build bro .... id love to do the same build one day when I've finished mine lol !
Re: DJZ's 280ZX
Mucking around on a Friday night. I spent way too long thinking about how many holes to put in it and how big the holes needed to be. I've seen this done on a few Japanese cars and liked the look.
Re: DJZ's 280ZX
throttle shaft thingy??? looks like all the thinking payed off, holes look great, and in proportion to the rest of the bracket.
Re: DJZ's 280ZX
Yup it's the throttle linkage bar. I'll put up a pic later on once I've got it on the car.
