Post by grant76 »

anyone used one of the redline radiators listed on trademe for datsun 1200's?? i'm sure they're made in china but just interested in quality as $225 seems not a bad price if its a bolt in jobbie and cools well?? cheers

I actually just bought a Skyline R32 one to put into my 300zx

you can see the up close photos in my build thread the quality and fit together seems fine from the outside.

DJZ has been running a similar but different chinese one in his Rb26 280zx with very few issues.

I should have mine running up to temp and pressure in the next weekend ish
The Answer to your Question is NEEDS MORE VG30

I'm going to buy an S14 one for my sunny. A friend of mine has a Redline S14 radiator for his project and it looks well made, welds look fine. Havent seen a 1200 one up close though

They are perfectly fine in 9 out of 10 situations. They don't really keep down temps for a few of the drift boys pushing a bit of Hp. But they are giving them a hiding and are sideways so lacking airflow. The cores aren't great quite thin tubes and normally they weld a few up if they are leaking. But like I say 9 out of 10 times they work perfectly fine.
