cheers all, yeah Akaroa would be amazing, just cant wait to get in and go for a drive.

pulled out all my hoarded box,s of stuff and found treasure galore, have bought another box of acustic sound deadner and will finish installing this, may even get a chance to swap the diff over, and run some brake lines.

oh and installed a door card on the drivers door just to have a sense of closure in this area.

funny story........ I had to put some masking tape on the side windows for a couple of days, as the day after putting the drivers door glass in I tried to place an item on the floor of the car and crashed it into the glass, it was clean and I havnt had to worry about glass in the door for the last 15 years, just got used to reaching through the hole.

Mate looking like progress. Is there chrome under the rear 1/4 windows?
Looks like that screen will be fine, how are you going to trim it? Inside and out? What is the plan, the rubber seal sort of covered up the edges of the interior, hood lining etc.

There should be chrome under the rear window, however I don't have it, I should have been pro-active in tracking some down, it will need to come from O MARY CAR so probably need to start an e-bay account. Alternatively I could make it and get it chromed, (which was what I was originally thinking many years ago).

The headlining wraps around the pillars and under the glass ,with an xtra piece glued in around the bottom behind the dash, so its all covered.

when I first decided to bond the glass in I extended the lips around the pillars to underlap the glass, there may be pics in the build thread, but some stuff disappeared when the forums changed.

Its quite scary and exciting just how close this could be to running, I spent a few hours yesterday finishing the sound deadner behind the rear quarter panels and cleaned and installed the trim cards, these will need to come out again and be touched up with some vinyl paint, as after cleaning them its showed up a heap of white over spray, basically I didnt have them covered when I painted the car the first time and had them lying around, the overspray settled on them and spotted them with a fine white mist ,so due to carelessness on my part some very original door and trim cards will need painting :deadhorse:

I also got the diffs swapped over, and thanks to Brocky the diff im using has all new brake cylinders and flexi hose to the body fitted. I also found my hardline that id thought id thrown out so the rear brakes from master cylinder to diff are complete, when I get back from Aussie (off on Wednesday) ill get an s13 calliper kit off brock and sort the front out ,then it will only need a bleed to check the brakes off the list .

My plan was to have the brakes done before the engine goes in and gets wired and plumbed, as this will be a massive moment and may co-inside with a quick fang up the road and back.
