not smiling hugely yet ginge, still a few things to sort out...
Big thanks to Sean Tonks (local guy with a SSS sedan) who lent me a dogleg 5 speed, which me & a mate put in last night.
battery charged up overnight, ready for road test today.
Got a local fundraising car show on sunday I am looking at entering, so will get some photos then

That thread and your RESULT is nothing short of true grit and commitment (and an understanding wife?). Your car is without compromise yet being sensitive to the car ( and looks) as it was built originally, not trying to make it something it is not, improvements made in all the right areas resulting in a magnificent example of a what is today a very collectable classic.
What a credit to you and those involved.
INSPIRATIONAL !!!

Re: Kitchs 1200 Coupe - road legal!
Cheers for your positive comments Darrell & everyone else
Been using the coupe over the long weekend, and other than a loose exhaust strap bolt, allowing pipe to knock on the chassis it hasnt missed a beat. Although it is a bit smokey, comes & goes a bit, so whether I have a ring issue, or it is just that it need a more developed tune I am not 100% - not stressed, will do oil & filter, add a catch tank and flush radiator etc in next few weeks then take back to Rapid for a final tune.
Took it out to Geraldine for a drive yesterday for a beer & lunch with the family. getting a lot of looks thats for sure! and enjoyed whipping it off the clock in fourth gear - although wife told me off ...
And whoever said I would never take it to the supermarket - the photo below proves you can if you are selective on where you park
