Put the sump on and got the motor in the hole, couple of small issues, the #6 trumpet isn't going to clear the clutch master cylinder and might possibly touch on the booster and the staino headers hit on the floor, I'm half way through removing the exhaust studs as I might just be able to sneak the headers on without them in or I've got another set that have been modified to fit into a 240Z with an RB26 head which might be a little closer but they run 8mm studs instead of 10mm and one or two of the bolt patterns are mirrored but that will be easy to fix.

The engine mounts are really stiff and the motor is sitting at a guess about 30 - 40mm further back than the motor in the black car, the angle front to back and side to side looks okay.

Have been thinking about what to do with the clutch, Wilwood clutch pedal assemblies that mount the master cylinder inside the car are actually reasonably priced, I'm just not sure whether it'll fit, the factory pedals have a joggle in them to clear the trans tunnel where the Wilwood doesn't so would need to be mounted further to the right than the OE pedal. The car is an auto so I need to do something about a clutch pedal anyway.

Did a little bit of mucking around on this, put a new oil filter on it, put some cheap oil in it for flushing it out, put 6L in and it's only just on the dipstick. I also realised the motor is actually sitting on the steering rack mounts and I don't think it's sitting level - it's lower on the left hand side so lifting that side up helps with the clearance for the headers. I think maybe a 5mm packer under the engine mount will get it level, we'll see over the next couple of days when I get back to it.

I've decided to move the motor forwards to the same position as the black car, this will hopefully give me enough room that the headers and also the clutch master cylinder will fit. Will start working on another set of engine mounts this week.

Might have to move this thing soon so got the diff bearings and passed them on to James to do his bit. Haven't done anything else on it recently.

I want to hear this thing going so I'm trying to figure out a way of doing the throttle linkage without using the original throttle bar as there's not really anywhere for it to go now, they bolt onto the top of the plenum from the factory. Some people mount them on plates etc above the trumpets like the picture below but I don't want to do that.

I think I can link two of the throttle bodies pretty easily by drilling out the stud for the linkage on both and just putting a bolt through them, need to work out a way of connecting the last throttle body to the other two. I'll probably run the throttle cable between the first and second throttle bodies as trying to run it to the last one will mean the cable is coming straight out of the firewall and bending back towards the firewall.

Or I could make up some linkages like a triple carb setup.

Alright I think I figured it out, if I take the spring off the centre throttle body and make up a thing to connect the two shafts together then hopefully the springs on the two outer throttle bodies will be enough.

I'll probably make a connector that slides over the threaded ends of the throttle body shafts and the grub screws onto the flats on both sides. And for the other two shafts I'll make something similar that has either a wheel on it like the factory setup or a lever arm of some sort and I'll have the cable coming from underneath.

The shafts do actually line up, the throttle bodies aren't fully tightened down in the pictures.
