Hi people,
Couple photos of the 1200 I've owned for some time now.
I brought this wee gem off the grandson of its original owner who purchased it brand spanking new in 1972.
Have done a few things to try and keep it going for years to come:
Monroe gas shocks at all four corners
Dolbie springs up front
2" blocks in the rear keeping the leaf springs un modified and original
13x7 Revolution wheels
Have just reciently given the original motor a freshen up with new piston rings and exhaust valves. A minimal amount skimmed off the head and block to resurface, frost plugs, timing chain and new gaskets throughout. All the bearings and other parts where in great nick and didn't require replacing.
Also replaced the clutch and pressure plate etc while I was there and still runs the original four speed.
Everything I've done to it has been with a view of being able to return it to as close to original as possible as we all know these/ old Datsuns in general are becoming like hens teeth.
Hoping to be at the nationals along with the 310.
Enjoy : )

What an absolute gem!!!
I like the revolution wheels also. I'm similar with my coupe and that I want to be able to return it back to standard one day when im a old man.

Thanks for the kind words! was just lucky to pick up such a well cared for example. Hummed and harred about the wheels as their not the real mccoy Japanese type but am happy with how they look. All going to plan look forward to meeting you guys in Taupo. Cheers

Those wheels are perfect. Yeah- for sure they are more of an english thing but they look great on your 1200! I want some revolution or similar 5 spoke hustlers for my Viva. Where did you get the wheels from?

Re: 1200 Deluxe : )
I got them from Palmside Autos in Christchurch, think they are the NZ supplier for Revolution. They have a couple offsets for this style these are +10 all round, were just over $800 for the set which I thought wasn't to bad for brand new wheels.
