easiest way to remove camshaft??

I want to whip out my cam shaft tonight, its on an engine stand, what the easiest way?

Its upside down with sump off already

If it's an A series, you need to remove the rocker shaft, and push rods.
remove the timing cover, oil pump, and fuel pump.
take off the timing chain, tensioner, and sprockets.
either hang the motor upside down on a stand, or sit it on it's back (Say sitting on the flat side of the flywheel)
if it's upside down, remove the retainer, and pull the cam out. Be careful not to damage the cam bearings with the cam as you draw it out.
Or if the motor it standing up on it's rear face, rotate the cam one full turn to push the followers away from the lobes, and draw the cam out.

thanks guys I ended up degreeing the cam while still in the engine. didn't need to take out the cam in the end.
