I'm currently rebuilding a spare diff for my coupe. I've had the housing blasted and coated, so now I'm replacing the bearings and seals. I got one bearing number "6306LU" from a bearing and managed to get a set of "6306" bearings for free, however I've found that the ID of this bearing is 30mm where the axle is 32mm. I'm guessing that LU means it's a completely different bearing?
I'm also need to source axle seals which I've had no luck finding part no. for and the collars which hold the bearing onto the axle which I think I'll have to get from Nissan.
Rebuilding H165 diff
Re: Rebuilding H165 diff
did you get the 6306LU number off the seal? I think the correct number is 63068/32
with most bearings the last number multiplied by 5 gives the bore diameter, so a 6306 is 30mm ID
as you said the axle bearing diameter is 32mm, the bearing is a special one. the seals will be the same as a normal 6306 so if that's where you got the number from that's why. look for a number on the outer ring.
I would have thought the easiest and cheapest way would be to buy a wheel bearing kit that includes bearing, seal and locking collar. from an automotive supplier. I got mine from Repco but it was years ago, hopefully they're still available though, still plenty of H165 driving around so they should be

Re: Rebuilding H165 diff
alright some bearing knowledge................... LU is just the arrangement of the seal as there can be LLU, ZZ, LLB, NO LETTERS after it etc
you can still buy a wheel bearing kit from saeco Wilson, I have some at home that come with the seal and the collar, there should be NO issues in getting this stuff

Thanks for the help guys!
That number was from the seal so I'll have another look to see if there's a number on the outer ring.
Any chance you have a part no. for the entire kit?
I rang up Saeco today and got told you could only get the bits individually which added up to over $110 per side. Not to keen on paying that much just yet.

Re: Rebuilding H165 diff
I've got lock collars from BNT before.
I think they can do a whole kit.

Re: Rebuilding H165 diff
BNT - 2848KIT - 72mmx32mmx19mm bearing size - looks like plenty around the country - i had to look up 910 with solid rear and 140J, both have H165, as the 1200 only has listing for H145.Nick wrote:Thanks for the help guys!
