A & E series compatibility

Hey, does anyone know if there is a way to bolt an A series manual gearbox to an E series Engine?
My friend wants to sell his E15et and I want to know if there is anything I could use it for.

Have a read of this. The Tech wiki on Datsun1200.com is an absolute wealth of knowledge. Looks like a A series gearbox bolts up minus one bolt and you need to sort the started motor and probably the clutch.
