20% fuel resistant, intriguing, how do they measure that?? Submerge 'o'ring in fuel and measure how much is left?? After a drive 20% of the fuel is left in the tank??

Datto_610's 180B - Cert Prepping!

Post by Datto_610 »

No idea but it won't last forever but it'll do for now. Got some more work done today this first thing wasn't cert related but was something I really wanted to do. The screw holes in the drivers side door interior handle had become slogged out over time so it would come loose when you pulled the door shut. I could've used a bigger screw but it would only be a short term solution has it's bound to slog out over time so went with rivnuts/nutserts. Got some from blacks and Googled a cheat way to fit them without the tool! Which was all well and good but the rivnut kept moving in the hole so wouldn't work.... went to Bunnings just on the off chance they may have had the tool there. Found a Kinchrome set there for $87 which does m3,m4,m5 and m6 with 20 of each plus all the mandrels etc thought bugger it why not and I may do the rest of the doors but for now they seem fine.

After mucking around with the door handle I whipped out the gear box cross member so I can get it strengthened. While this is out I'm going to screw another couple bundy tube clips on my hard line in the gearbox tunnel just need a right angle drill or something to screw it with as I don't want to remove the gearbox!

Any ideas for strengthening?

Good work bro, rivnuts are one of my favourite things.

With the gearbox mount could you weld a piece of flat bar down the length of it on one end then cut it to shape?
