Datsun 720 airfilter?
Datsun 720 airfilter?
Hey guys. I'm new to this. This may sound like a stupid question. But I have a L18 in my 720. Just wondering what would be air filter for it. The original or something new like a mushroom filter. It's done 345000 on the clock it rekons. It use to be a old farm hack before I got hold of it and has been siting in my garage for about the last 6 years. So yeah. Any suggestions would be wicked. Cheers.

I have an Air cleaner housing for a four cylinder L series engine.
You can have it for the cost of postage if you need it?

Yeah I havea fairly new one on it but just wondering if a different style filter would be better for i rather then a factory air boxtsC20 wrote:They are still available, Ryco A52 from memory or equivalent.

Depends if you want it noisy or not. Factory air cleaner is perfectly fine for a standard engine.

Re: Datsun 720 airfilter?
It won't do much really. I've been there with exhaust and intake mods and it was more noise, which can be good if that is what you want. Performance gains come from serious modding such as twin carburettors, camshaft, valve lift , porting and polishing etc.
