Re: Luke's 1200 Coupe
Good effort Luke. If you are stuck for a fuel pump I will have one to tide you over. But you will need to remove it from the engine.

Re: Luke's 1200 Coupe
Fitted fuel tank. only to discover that when fuel injection conversion was done that the outlet from factory was gone...... spot the difference? lucky im a hoarder and have a dented spare. grommet for fuel filler is average but will have to do. shot into blacks as the factory bolts to mount tank werent 8.8 grade and im a fussy cunt.
i also failed my foot exam and am still in moonboot for another 2 weeks. lucky me!
Dropped driveshaft into circletrack engineering to get shortened, this will be the make or break moment depending on when they finish it. i bribed accurately.
Coupe is booked in first thing monday morning to have door and boot/ anything else requiring glueing of rubbers to body fitted by Upper classics, who were really good to deal with and understood my stupidity in leaving it so late. i could maybe do this myself but i only want to do it once. iv seen some home jobs not come out looking so good after a few weeks.
thats all for today folks.
tomorrow.... fuel lines and pump....maybe.
And brakes possibly too.
this took me a long time to write, 2 whiskeys worth of time.
Fitted gutter trim thanks to a clip from brendan, looks lovely. only downside is a small pinlike dent that may have been missed by wildermoth.
Painted and reassembled struts less the hubs which got painted today. Recip saw cut me a slot in each for cable to be able to run through brake tab, so fast and so easy to do out of the car (i forgot to in the ute....)
Traced out pattern for vinyl side bits for boot, was gonna do carpet but this can be under it and be protected, will do all panels like this. my tool was nothing flash as i lost my stanley blade.
Fitted some of those bobbin rubber spacers john said to use, the flex in them helped get bolts through holes as the lining up of the holes is rubbish on redline radiators, will need to address the 15mm gap between radiator and support panel with some foam or some such thing to help cooling.
Went out to wals at lunchtime to drop him some goodies and got to drive his car around his driveway which boosted motorvation!i also failed my foot exam and am still in moonboot for another 2 weeks. lucky me!

Re: Luke's 1200 Coupe
That depends entirely on ........ far too many things.
To be completely honest at this stage based on what I need/can have, just visit me.
I am trying, and brendan has been really generous with his time and knowledge, but I will be down to the wire.

Awesome work Luke!
I could have helped you glue those rubbers, but totally understand you getting someone to do it too. Para sells that foam tape in the right thickness.
I know what you mean about the trailer thing - I think I permanently damaged my neck from looking back all the times I've had to move my shell.

Re: Luke's 1200 Coupe
Coupe is in at upper classics, like john says, my neck is fucking sore from looking behind constantly despite having a rear vision mirror. such is life.
Brendan and elliott smashed out 99% of the wiring and have i now have dash lights which is exciting, still need to sort an earth from engine to chassis, fix distributor clip, plumb the small 3mm ish line from dizzy area to manifold, among many other tedious jobs.
Brendan plumbed up fuel lines and pump, Elliott mounted brake m/c and fed the lines in, will bleed system this week once i sort issue with h165 brake hoses mounting on opposite side of diffhead.
Having a small issue with brake disks atm, 20mm thick is ridiculously tight while 18mm seems good, but apparently is maximum wear for such things. hopefully sort that out today.
anyway, picture proof.
