Right time for an update, so ive started to get back into this, i had the engine out again to modify the sump to clear the steering, the headers are made and just fit so the engine is in for the last time!!!! I now need custom HT leads for the drivers side and then get onto the gearbox mount.

More progress is happening, this is my idea for a transmission brace just needs welding then ill paint it and bolt it in. Got the coolant sensor wired up just need to get an exhaust sorted so i dont piss off the neighbours getting it up to temp to see how it sits on the gauge. What custom airboxes have people made?

More is happening, been fighting with electrical gremlins for a bit but now have that sorted, got a dash from a nissan primera and used the gauges out of that (not sure if speedo works yet) Also does anyone have a spare fuel gauge i broke the needle off mine. Mid section of the exhaust is done and it sounds great, not too loud just right. Made my own custom HT leads for it as it was such a long wait to get them made up. my next big issue is exhaust temp, even after running it for 2 mins my engine loom starts smoldering even 2" away from it. Now im not a huge fan of exhaust wrap so im gonna use the corrugated alloy heat shield which should also keep that factory look.

Good work on the gauges, they look factory. Does the tach read right with twice the cylinders?

Thanks. Yea the tach works good that's why I went with the 4 cylinder tach. The ls1 ecu has a setting to change between 4&8 cylinder pulse

More Delays, im in Dunedin for 6 weeks working but ill atleast have the money to finish it when i get back. Before i left i heat shielded both the headers, man that stuff is expensive!!!!!. Also got the head unit mounted and running through all speakers. I brought an R200 lsd out of a 300zx an Brand new 4pot hilux calipers for it, when im back ill get onto making custom 4140 stub axles for 5 stub and run a larger shank for strength even looking at splining it to commodore spline so i can run heavier half shafts as ill have to anyway to work with the lsd. Oh and i managed to fit the commodore factory clutch master cylinder as it was the shortest i could get with enough volume.
