Re: DJZ's 280ZX
$399 a year to have the privilege to post on a forum using photobucket :S
Re: DJZ's 280ZX
Yeah nah, their service/website has been really shit over the last year or so as well, looks like I'll have to find somewhere else to host them. Anybody have any recommendations?
Re: DJZ's 280ZX
imgur? The photos are then public. Not sure how long they are kept for also.

Re: DJZ's 280ZX
Post the photos directly on the forum. It now supports multiple image upload.
My orangatang 510 here.
Re: DJZ's 280ZX
I've moved the images to Imgur and have started fixing them from newest to oldest, it's going to take a long time. I didn't want to host them on here as they are shared in other places as well.
Haven't done much more work on the car so far, took the valve refacer apart and cleaned it and also replaced the electrical lead and some of the wiring on it, this is what the plug on it looked like when I picked it up. The main grinding wheel motor seems okay, it runs at least.
Here's something cool that one of the guys made at work, it's a 3D printed titanium merge collector.

And here's a picture of the valve refacer.
Re: DJZ's 280ZX
That merge collector is
I remember seeing they had just figured out how they could 3D print titanium a couple of years ago, I didn't realise the technology was on the market already.
Valve refacing thingy is about 5 times as big as I imagined it to be in my head, does it just cut the faces or is this what you use for grinding multi-angle seats and whatnot?

Yeah it's been around for a while now, I think we've got the one with the biggest build area either in NZ or the Australasia, something like that. It can print aluminium, stainless and inconel too.broke wrote:That merge collector is

The valve refacer basically does the tips and the valve heads on whatever angle you want, it can move in X and Y as well as having two motors so it's reasonably big/heavy.
Re: DJZ's 280ZX
I've been really busy at work and really tired but I managed to get one bonnet vent installed today, the holes were just glassed over so I've cut them out. I have to buy some paint to paint them but it feels like progress. Haven't heard from Fleming yet about the head. Still haven't made a decision about the bonnet hold downs yet but I'm leaning towards the round push button ones.
