Re: Luke's 1200 Coupe
im back, always reading the forums but nothing posted.
still buying toys for this thing.
most recently a gx5 bonnet from north island and gx stripes for down each side from bprojects, missed out on a gx dash unfortunately, they are so fucking expensive. also missed out on a 72 facelift dash fasia panel. life goes on.
il do pictures sometime off my phone sometime soon.
also booked in with damon for monday for a wof and its final tune......finally. thats on me.
started up yesterday running like a bag of dicks with a spectacular exhaust leak, im damn sure itl fail the wof on a spectacular amount of small issues.
(sorry damon if your reading this).

Pushing the bar higher yet again Luke. GX stripes and bonnet will nicely complete that JDM yo look.
I always quite liked the square Apaches, I hope you keep them too.

Re: Luke's 1200 Coupe
I just feel rude having the front and rear badging without all the other bits, it will always be a replica, but il try get it as close as possible to the real thing.
Also have the proper gx5 "S" badge with wing bits on a new grill (not 72' facelift unfortunately) courtesy of brendan that I'm yet to fit.
My riverges turned up also, after customs took their bit, and are all in damn good nick. Minor curbing on a couple but less than a mm deep at max. .
6.5j is too narrow at rear so may have to space em out. If they make it onto the coupe at all.
All in the name of progress!

How did you get on with the tune and Wof?
"It's ok, we know what to do...we talked about this a lot on the internet."
Re: Luke's 1200 Coupe
Had to delay a week as the apprentice was away. Couldn't drop the car off unfortunately.torqued wrote:How did you get on with the tune and Wof?

Re: Luke's 1200 Coupe
picked up coupe last week.
WHAT. AN. ANIMAL.
so smooth. fucking stoked!
hoping to get gx stripes fitted next week/maybe this weekend by a sign writer/pinstriper/whoever, bonnet needs a skim and some paint then il sort out mounting that, hopefully by nats.
gx mirrors fitted this weekend all going well?
costs a lot to have a non genuine jdm badged gx5 sunny coupe. but hopefully it looks acceptable.
doing a mission/hoon/skid maybe...... to governors bay sunday morning for a pint/breakfast to actually drive the damn thing (picked it up, drove it home. left for stag do in nelson the next morning, got home late sunday, worked late all this week)
not that it matters on my build thread but stoked to have all ferrys/accomodation/fuel/new portable radio sorted for the big trip away to ohakune!
on a side note, ute started well to relocate for a firewood delivery. going into storage till after i get married/have funds to sort it out
