HELLLLPP!! RUST!

Post by RedVB310 »

Hi Guys im a new Datsun owner and I drive a 1982 Datsun B310 wagon, however she is my daily driver now after I sold my previous car, but there is a big problem. I have come to realise there is significant rust damage in the doors, the bottom of the drivers door is nearly rusted out. I was wondering if any of you guys have am idea on how much it would cost to have all 4 doors repaired or know some really good rust repair guys please let me know. Im only 19 so I dont have a crazy amount of cash but I have 3k to start the repairs and ill work my ass off to keep her from an early rusty grave. I Love this car and even if I have to work weekends sweeping floors for some panel beater to earn the repairs ill do it. Any help would bw greatly appreciated. And FYI yes I know im a complete idiot for buying a rusty car.

Here's some picks of Ginny for attention.ImageImage

Hey mate, nice wagon
Maybe post some pics of the rusty areas if possible.
imo pull the door cards off and have a look on the inside of the doors, clean up and treat rust on the doors that aren't too bad. If the drivers door is the worst and has holes etc maybe look for another door that is good or repairable and have that one fixed so you can keep using the car. Having some rust is quite normal for a car of this type and age so don't get overly concerned.
Good luck with it and let us know how you get on!

Post some pics up man, im 18 and have done all the repairs on my sedan myself.
If you have a mig or tig, some panel steel and YouTube then you should be good to give it a go! Even take the worst door off and have a try if your that way inclined.

Otherwise I would highly recommend Gt Refinishers Panel and Paint from Penrose, not sure if they fix rust but they would sure know who can!
They did Shakils b210 fj20 120y and did a pretty awesome job.
