Wow
What an epic weekend. One of the biggest I have ever been apart of and so many amazing cars. So glad to hear you southerners made it home safe even if it was tired.
There were 46 cars on the Sunday cruise and I know of at least 3 that came and did the cruise to Horopito but could not make the Sunday cruise so I am thinking there were around 50 cars involved over the weekend and also 13 making the epic trip from the south Thank you guys so much was really great to get to meet everyone.
Our peoples choice was so close with only 2 votes between 1st and 3rd place
1st was Dales Blue 1600
2nd was Chris and Bernies Orange 1600
3rd was Matt B's Grey 140J
Well done so much time and work has gone into all these cars and so many more
Unfortunately a few hard luck stories as well the winner being Cole with his on going fuel pump issues but he did manage to finish the cruise. Also I believe that Ron had some troubles and we had two cars left in the car park at Ohakune and someone lost a wheel somewhere So I hope all of these people made it home safe and sound and thank you so much for making it. I believe also there are a couple of cars that had aimed to make it but ran out of time.
I want to say thank you to everyone who helped out from Rob developing a great voting system Lisa and Andrew making epic stones for the kids and the 510 stones for the prizes and everyone else who pitched in to help out.
I want to make a list of sponsors but don't know them all so if you collected prizes please feel free to add the buisness' that supported our cruise and if you are a local please support these buisness'
From Hawkes Bay we had... BNT Hastings.... donate to us
big thanks also to.... Cockram Nissan .....partsworld Timaru....Rotor weld Engineering......PPS Engineering supplys...Fusion....repco greenlane...Autostop pukehoe......
I am going to be putting in another run of Tee shirts this week so if I have missed you out or you have decided you would like one let me know. I also have a few more stickers left also
A big thank you to all the partners and kids that also came this is really what helps make this a fun weekend for me
and of course a thank you to all that took part I could organize everything but with out you there is no cruise so thank you.
Cheers
Alice

Re: Datsun Nationals Ohakune 2017, Saturday & Sunday October 21-22
Now that I've had a sleep I'd like to say a massive thanks to Alice for her efforts organising things. I know from Akaroa meets past how much effort goes in.
I was totally blown away by the standard of the cars too. Voting for people's choice was very challenging.
Also fantastic to meet so many new people. A true combined nationals in the south is definitely on the cards in the future. Tired as I am, I'm feeling reinvigorated about the Datsun club, and about actually finishing my cars.
AAA+ Would trade again.

We also had a great time. First time for my partner and she is hooked. I think i have permission to spend more money on datsuns now!
Thanks to the organisers and helpers. We just turned up and enjoyed it. Was a great atmosphere and the kids enjoyed it. Sorry to anybody that got ran into or had something chewed.
Looking forward to the next one.

Had such a great time! 180B ran flawless! Even with the temp gauge reading high since going up to the Chateau, she got me home just fine! Thanks to all the people who gave me compliments on my car too, she may have been one of the rougher looking cars there but had "that look" I was told haha. Can't wait for next year with hopefully some more mods! Was really good to meet more of the North Island crew as well!
