OUCH!
On the bright side it's a good chance to catch and address any hidden rust while it's getting fixed, looks like a fun car.
Are you the guy I bought some D2 strut tops off a while ago or was that someone else?

finished getting it down to a rolling shell so i can start paint stripping in the next few days. any recommendations on removing the carpet type sound deadening that's molded into the tar like under seal?

Re: S30 260z resto mod
I spent a few hours chipping the sound deadening off my shell with a flat blade screwdriver and a rubber mallet.
It chips off OK and I used turps to clean the residue off, came up really good.
Spend another two days putting it all back on as close to stock as I could get it.
Good luck. Have a chat to Warrick (2 Doors) if you want some of the best panel work done in CHCH. He's worked on several S30's and first class work.
There is more rust to find I'm sure.
Good luck, looks like a lot of fun.
