Hey all,
After a debarkle with points and weak spark, I've decided to look into the Coil on Plug/coil per cylinder ignition method.
My knowedge on this stuff is fairly minimal. Currently i have points, ballast resistor and an old MSD unit which heaps a lot.
I have a stealth electronic module with magnetic pickup from the existing dizzy. Somehow I want to try use this to trigger multiple coils, or two pairs of coils.
Somehow it would be good to trigger these without a computer,
has anyone had experience with this? I remember seeing a 120y on trademe a few years ago with 4 x coils, think it was triggered from the crank.

I'm pretty sure NZEFI have made a thing to run multiple coils off an electronic dizzy before, it was called a toggle box I think?
A Ford EDIS system would be another option.

Cheers DJZ, Ive done some quick digging and cant find anything called a toggle box under nzefi. Another name ring a bell?
That edis system might be a go, seems more complicated than what I was aiming for (simple and reliable)

Nah, it would have been custom I think, I'm pretty sure I saw it on a BMFR that was on Trademe. If you talk to Walter there he'd know. It basically takes the trigger signal from the dizzy that would usually go to one coil and then "toggles" between outputs to the wasted spark coils.twin120ys wrote:Cheers DJZ, Ive done some quick digging and cant find anything called a toggle box under nzefi.
