And there it stopped. I still haven't put oil in the gearbox. I am ashamed to say the 1200 sat neglected outside for too long. The 1600 is a bigger car more suited to the growing family, and much more comfortable on Post Quake Christchurch roads, so the 1200 sat patiently in the garden. (I don't recommend this for 1200s, they are a little water soluble). Can't believe it was 4.5 years, can't wait to get behind the wheel again! Nats 2019!!

Long story short, a deal was struck for some surplus 1200 parts and I now have a pretty much rust free 1200.

Now it is up to me to getting it looking all Pretty and to try my hand at painting...how hard can it be??
