Hi , Andrew from Nelson .
it starts here: id had the car for about a year , bought it for $450 in 1990 .it wasnt flash .
i done a few things to it off the bat .
mags . exhaust, air shocks and wreaked a few things by then to , oh and note the brown carpet dash with blue fluffy visors ,
which leeds to this --->
ok-i copy/pasted my intro from intro's but it belongs here with my cars thread .
just like to introduce my self as a long time p610 180b owner .(it's about time)
This car has been with me for most of my life . and I would not sell it for the world .
i've had her for 29 years and counting , bought it at 14 , you can do the math's .definitely most my life .
its been a solid car . its been great fun , a good daily in my youth , also a fun rally car---but then the regret .
which then made it in to my long term money pit .
i started working on it as a project about 20 years ago restored it with side projects , got it back on the road 15 years ago with a track sort of orientation took a lot of time work blood sweat and dollars . then daily'ed it for a few more years ,it became challenge to keep maintained with other projects .
i made it a turbo project and bought a luxury daily to soak up the wear and tear .
i Had built the l18 as far as i could ,"balanced. forged .10.5;1 compression ,big ports and valves ,cnc flywheel, and a gnarly cam ,firstly dellorto's then plenum EFI set up . so a lot of trial none was error.
it went great , then daily'ed it again .
a couple of years later i turbo'ed it with a T3T4 , 10psi on 10.5;1 . it was crazy.
its been like that for 6-7 years .held together well .
but the block eventually rusted a pin hole in no#4
.
i'm now in the process of giving the car a fresh up . new computer . fresh engine .bit of body work
removed the turbo for now mainly as a preservation factor. and also to give some 45mm ITB's a go !
i think this will sound insane . sure it wont be such the kick in the back, but still cant wait .
for now heres a link of the car on the dyno a few years ago . and some shots . more to come.
regards Andy

these photos were taken around 2005 with the delorto's on .

Re: Andys 180B P610 sedan
A few years went by - and i decided to change a few things .
added a wolf 3D V3 EMS ECU with hand held . 550cc evo injectors . evo3 coils.external tail waist gate .
sard rising rate fuel reg . low and high pressure fuel pumps with surge tank .
bought an engine from Auckland .
that was withered and water damaged . but it had turbo exhaust manifold , and custom intake plenum .
and berries all over it .
i rebuilt it and ran it NA for a couple of years most days .
this was around 2010 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9-R9FASmFk

any way in 2012 i decided to put that turbo exhaust manifold to use.
with a few mods and a bit of trial i fitted a T3T4 hybrid turbo to it .
the spade work was already done . this proved to be just WICKED FUN once tuned.

Re: Andys 180B P610 sedan
so got that buttoned up. and dyno tuned. the old Wolf was a bit incremental and a prick to tune .
stuck a 720 5 speed and a subaru LSD in it.
a couple of dyno runs here .
he was running it to 8k rpm but thats the wolfs max .
so the conservative peak was 7500rpm
10 psi boost 190hp 7500rpm at the rear wheels
235 nm torque , estimated 230BHP. pulling 200kph in 4th .
i was happy with that . done 25000kms with it like this .
but no cold start , i had to manually enrich the map on it every cold start.
it wasn't a friendly street set up .

Re: Andys 180B P610 sedan
so 6 or 7 years go past again . i pulled it out of storage and it had pin holed no#4 cylinder . the coolant was in the sump.
so i pulled the don'k down to salvage it .
and rebuilt it into another block over the past few weeks .
i,ve decided to try some twin FAJS 45mm independent throttle body's ,
paired with a new Haltech 550 Elite .
so the engine is built ready to go in . found some scoadey shit and cracks and what not in the eng bay and one rail seem .
just got the welding done this week looks solid again .
bit of work to go treating ,tidying , sanding & priming that up and i will re spray most of the eng bay again .
heres were i'm at .

Looks great Andy. I love the fact you have developed it and kept it so long.
When you go to Datsun meets the cars are not all garage queens, most have a story to tell and it is amazing the distance many of them have traveled, and also how long many of them have been owned by their current owners.
It would be great to see this at Hanmer for the Nats, would love to hear those ITBs singing.
All the best with progress.
