So the VQ35 that I bought came with a pretty much brand new set of ID1000 injectors in it, which are bigger and newer than the ones I have in this currently. They are 14mm top o ring so don't fit in the existing fuel rail, so I made a new one. Can't put them in until my new plugs show up which is probably going to be another week or so.

Re: DJZ's 280ZX
Got some other bonnet latches for this after all the trouble I've been having with the small ones, the new ones are 1.75" OD and use an 8mm thread where the small ones were 1.25" and used a 6mm thread. Need to make much bigger holes in the bonnet to fit them but hopefully they'll stop it from popping open.
The fuel rail needs a bit more dicking around with, I think I'm going to weld -6 fittings to the ends instead of using the threaded adaptors. Also need to get another fuel pressure regulator, they make a Nismo one like what I'm already using but with AN fittings on it.

Got this back from storage on the weekend, need to get a couple of things sorted before the Nationals.
I've got the new bonnet latches which look okay, they aren't that much bigger than the original ones which is good. I also want to make a box to go around the air filter and possibly change the inlet pipe to the turbo, change the injectors (maybe if I've got time), make a proper coil mount bracket and maybe add a water/meth kit.

Got the new latches in, had to make some bushes so I could use the hole saw in the original hole, worked out well though. These ones are long enough that I can use the locking rings with them as well, which I couldn't do with the old ones due to the thickness of the bonnet.
Re: DJZ's 280ZX
Took this out to work with the Z Club a couple of weeks ago, went fine.
I finally did something I've been wanting to do for ages which is replace the aluminium intake tube that I had with a carbon one. I had to rotate the pipe with the blow off valve on it around which I've also been meaning to do for a while, that meant trimming the adjuster bolt for the power steering pump and moving the boost source for the boost control solenoid, I made up a new boss at work and James buzzed it on for me.

Re: DJZ's 280ZX
Fancy. Did you make that CF intake tube?
Re: DJZ's 280ZX
Nah, I wanted to but with the amount of dicking around making molds and stuff like that it was cheaper just to buy one. We've got some good carbon guys at work now so the finish would have been better if we'd made one.broke wrote:Fancy. Did you make that CF intake tube?
