Diff Help!!

Post by Tristan »

I need advice. I have a Datsun 1200 wagon and need to upgrade my rear axle/diff.
I have put a mildly worked A15 into my car, and the standard diff is on its last legs. I would love to be able to drop the clutch occasionally.
The best option for me would be to put an H165 from a ute in, as it is a straight swap, but I can’t find one for sale; it seems people are reluctant to let them go (which I can understand).
I am contemplating shortening a Hilux diff, which would give me the option of an LSD, but I have heard that they are heavy, and I don’t need to be pushing too much weight around.
I would appreciate any advice, or if you know of an H165 or a Borg Warner M68 that is available to purchase, please let me know. I'm happy to pick up or pay for freight if you are further away.

Cheers
Tristan

How’d you get on? Surely someone can to your rescue with an h165?
