Datsun blue engine paint

Whats the deal? From what i've heard you can't get it and have to paint them lame ford blue...not an option!

Anyone know if you can you get it from anywhere? I have found it oversea's but shipping paint isn't wise.

Prob going to get a litre mixed up. Got quote $80 for 2 litres. Have the colour %'s if anyone wants them.

If you're going to buy 2ltrs, you may as well pay a wee bit more, and get it in 250ml tins. That would be plenty to paint an engine, and you'd have zero trouble reselling the unused paint. T'would be much better than someone taking the whole tin away and returning it after they were done. (That would be a good way to wreck your paint!)
Or are you going to paint something other than an engine?

i took a bare block to the local paint shop, and they made up a colour matched high temp quick-dry aerosol can for $25, the colour looks great.

Yeah the spray store on st asaph street can match colours and put them into aerosol can for you too. Its about that price too from memory

Yeah, talked to spray store, they can colour match it for me. The %tints i have are in dupont tinter's though so they told me to go see Resene because they have those specific paints and could just mix it straight up.

$25 aerosol can sounds good but i'd probably prefer a longer lasting brush on engine enamel with hardener. Might do what Bart said and sell off 250ml tins, i'm sure it wouldn't be hard to get rid of them.
