Bummer dude, how did the sills get damaged rolling the arches? I didn't think the exhaust was included when measuring the lowest point?
Re: D1RTY6 's 1978 C331 Gloria SGL-E
The guards were rolled by the previous owner using a heavy ball-pein guard massaging tool... and an Enerpac brand roller.....DJZ wrote:Bummer dude, how did the sills get damaged rolling the arches? I didn't think the exhaust was included when measuring the lowest point?
If you know what I mean.....

I'm picking up what you're putting down, was it braced against the sills when pushing?
I'd find out where the PO took it for a warrant and take it back there

It may well have been, didn't pay that close attention.DJZ wrote:I'm picking up what you're putting down, was it braced against the sills when pushing?

Sorry bit of a copy paste error, Not sure how the sills where damaged, i suspect jacking the car, have had a a wof with them as they are before so not sure why they got picked up all of a sudden.DJZ wrote:Bummer dude, how did the sills get damaged rolling the arches? as for exhaust im not sure, he said i can just get it welded up higher. as it does sit quite a bit lower than the car

Am I wrong in thinking that the lowest point of the car should be measured from a fixed part of the car, didn't think the exhaust counted?

Exhaust can be as low as you like - its not part of the structural parts of the car - they should be measuring chassis rails and suspension

Sounds like your WOF guy is a bit of a Nazi, try somewhere else...

Wof inspector has got no idea if hes stinging you on the exhaust.
How do sills get damaged by guard rolling? You dont even roll the bottom edges of the guard!
