thanks guys!
the wheels do look awesome, but have created a few issues!
they are +12 offset, and shane and i have been discussing clearances and placement of the adjustable xmember brackets.
have had to move the brackets in 15mm towards centre of xmember to get sufficient clearance with the door lip/step in the outer rear guard, bringing the brackets close to or even inside the exhaust hole, which would look disastrous.
im hoping i dont have to prep another xmember with the 4inch exhaust hole 10mm closer to the diff to get the brackets fitted in a decent spot.
we have looked at modifying the door lip/step in the outer half of the inner guard to give more clearance and therefore wider track to fix the bracket location, but could require a lot of work and may affect the rear doors also.
anyone have any thoughts on modifying the body?

this car seems to be getting built around the wheels...

however, the moustauche bar has been cut, bent and welded up to suit the r200 diff.

and some other news:
removed sump on sr20 to find this........

have had this motor for about 4years now, showed oil on the dipstick, and have poured oil down the sparkplug holes in the past, but when i tried to drain the oil and nothing came out, i knew something was up.
opened the sump to find the oil in a soft jelly consistancy.
this motor was destined for a strip down for building a worked bottom end, am hoping the motor is still in good condition, will remove rocker cover today and examine the cams and rocker assembly.
not quite sure why the oil is in this state, whether its due to poor servicing, or the oil has broken down since motor was removed from car. motor was apparently from a 120km old s14 that was crashed by its female asian owner.
as long as the motor is useable for modifying, then im happy.

initial removal of the sump for modifying to give clearance for the draglink, pics to come.

wow that is just as unpretty as you described it!
Female asain owner prolly means original oil. As long as the cams haven't been destroyed (might be a good excuse to get some high lift long duration ones?) it should still be fine for giving a birthday to though. Not to fret, SR's are cheap as chips compared to other engines. So it won't be too hard (or costly) to track down a temproray engine whiel you're turning this one into a HiPo handgrenade.
