Number-plate treatment could be fooled for factory, lush.
1 point of wonderment..why didnt you throw a patch in where the old interior door locks were instead of leaving the lump? Would have been easier than making that penny-patch haha!

What engine was in it when you got it?
Yeah, kinda depressing seeing it sitting there almost done lol.

Um, I guess at the time I thought it would be nicer to keep the lines. not sure why lol

The more I look at my car I regret doing a few things. Like I regret my wheel choice. I regret keeping the drop tank. I regret going for a white interior (although the interior looks awesome to me, I think black with the orange considering all the black and orange theme of the rest of the car would look better)

The great thing about cars is that if you don't like it, you can always change it later on

Well I am back into it. Cleaning my dash and putting it together. All I can say is to those working on your Datsuns, please dont half arse it. It means that when somebody wants to do it properly they have to clean up your mess first haha

But seriously, I have just spent the last 3 hours cleaning al the glue and shit in my gauge cluster because somebody broke the tabs on the perspex covering the gauges.

The metal plates that lay on top of the dash between the dash mat and the windscreen look like they need repainting etc.

Any ideas on what is best to do here? Powerder coat, or spray paint fine?

he is short on them too. He purchased a whole heap from Japan and is down to his last 4, and has three boxes to rebuild so he is short. Otherwise I would have :D

I will make enquiries tomorrow since i know the NSK number now too. Bazza Just gave me the NTN one.

Well today has been frustrating. Finally started putting the sounds in. Mounted the mid woofers. Went to mount the tweeters into the rea panel below the rear window which I had an engineering firm cut out four holes for me. I marked 4 little x marks for the center of the holes and said I wanted 48mm holes cut to fit in the tweeters which were 47mm with the mounting lip out to 51mm.

What did they do??? Cut 51mm holes ffs. Now I have to make new mounting plates to attach to the back and cut my own 48mm holes in those plates and flush mount the tweeters. All these sorts of fuck ups are really delaying my progress.

Then I noticed this which just made me want to smash my datsun into pieces.

The last panel beating job on my Datsun was the rear panel that needed to be swapped from the spare car. We were really rushed at this time to get the car ready for the painters, to get the car at my wedding . With me pushing him he has welded it in place, then used bog to skim it (when I asked for no bog when possible, should have been lead flowed grrr!). Well atleast thats what i think has happened as it is right above where the weld is (as can been seen when looking from the otherside of that panel.

Looks like more fucking money needs to be spent to get the body mint. Its my shitty luck with this car.
