Yea even with sand soda glass etc you will still need to scrap that black underseal off anyway. You just don't need to take it back quite that far.

We brought some paint stripper today and got stuck in... Its fairly easy to do.... just brush and walk away!! then come back and scrape its takes a few coats to get through everything but well keep ticking away at it so hopefully it'll be ready for the soda blaster soon

its actually quite fun too lol
a million times more fun than grinding that crap off the bottom of the car lol (havent gone any further with that yet)
please note that as we were extremely hungover, no safety equipment was necessary during this process lol

You really want to employ some PPE when using that stuff. The active ingredient (Methyl Chloirde) is some nasty shit. Get it on your skin, and it burns like fuck. I spent 3 months straight brushing it on, and scraping it off. When I was too lazy to wear a respirator, I could feel the brain cells dying in their squillions.
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............

Re: Pips datto project - 1973 Datsun 140J sedan
haha
we were looking for some "Tergo strip", but being a public holiday, spraystore and RJ Patersons were closed.
we checked out Supercheap, Repco, and smiths city.....but to no luck, so we bought some stuff called K & H.
tergostrip has "phenol" in it, which I guess is what makes it better than other brands lol....thats a nasty chemical.
yeah this stuff burns your skin too lol......I got a little on my hand
