Yeah I wouldve thought it wouldve spluttered etc. It's smooth as. Just into the plenum. Wastegate line is plugged into the 1st section of IC piping

I bought a brand new vband tial wastegate and put that on yesterday and it made no difference lol. I was certain the old hks gate was to blame but evidently it wasn't :s

Sounds like you need to offload an old HKS wastegate then :baseballbat:

What manor of boost controller do you have?

Boost controller shouldn't have anything to do with it as the preloaded spring in the wastegate is set to 10 psi.

What COULD be happening is if somehow he has a VACUUM line on the top side of his wastegate reducing the amount of pressure needed from the turbo to compress the spring instead of a pressure regulator allowing opposing pressure on the top side.

Haha the hks units spoken for (my new wof guy wants it for his 4agte kp60) no boost controller, just running a 10psi spring (.7 bar to be exact) I'm completely clueless to what's causing the lack of boost at this stage, runs mint as tho do gonna drive it a bit until I work it out. Really it's prob just god controlling the boost to stop me getting to carried away lol

The wastegate line should be hooked into the I/C piping nice and close to the throttle body, as it will then see the pressure that is closest to the engine, after loosing some through your I/C e.t.c.

If there was vacuum on the line to the wastegate, then it wouldn't operate, therfore increasing boost....thats how they work.
once 10psi is reached on the line going to the wastegate, it will be enough to overcome the spring pressure and begin to open the wastegate, bypassing some exhaust gas, reducing boost pressure. the more pressure on the wastegate line, the further the wastgate opens
