FJ20et questions

Post by nosebleed »

righty....

have a 1600 SSS on its way to me next weekend.
its not plumbed up or wired for anything yet..

so, how many wires are needed to run a FJ?
are they simple to plumb up? as in not too many vac hoses etc that make an engine bay all messy...its got the factory loom aswell so all the lights etc should hook up all good just dont want a 100 wire nightmare getting the link hooked up to the FJ..

its coming with a link with loom and hand controller, boost solenoid thing, ballast resistor thing...do you guys think there should be a relay for the fuel pump and ecu, aswell as injectors or only pump and ecu?

been a long time since ive played with pistons and turbos/injection..
wanna get it right but not paying someone a million bux to do it for me...

i will get it tuned most likely by NZEFI cos they did my RX7 years ago,and were really helpful

is there an NZEFI in Auckland?
there isnt many wires in a link setup, less than factory FJ anyway.
I have wired up a CA18 with a link before, its pretty simple.

Oh yeah, you should also wire the power to your IGN coils via the links "rpm switch" output.
because the link is wierd, and when you turn the key to ON, it will give 1 spark of the coils even if you dont turn it over.
so if you have a rich mixture in the plenum like we did.....BOOM goes the plenum. lol
so we wired ign power via the rpm switch and set it at a rpm that would switch when engine was actually cranking over.....worked a treat
