1600 sss engine choice

Post by nosebleed »

as you may know im new to datsun ownership..well my first one i had for 2 weeks before it was sunk into the waikato river..

i have a 1600 sss...its got a fj20et in it, but i wont pull it out in favour of a carbyd engine..

so.... what will bolt straight in with no worries at all?
i really dont want to have to get a cert to get it back on the road...
or does someone have a stock driveline i can borrow for the revinning process?
im most likely gonna sell it once its on the rd i think, unless i fall in love with it, which could happen..

Dude! Roll the FJ and love it. Puling the FJ is just crazy talk. Thats like taking a 426 hemi out, so you could fit a 225 slant 6!
FJ FTMFW!
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............

Do i remember reading you swapped this for your race car you'd sunk a quite a few thousand dollars into?? if you're doing this up to sell and get your money back for, you'll probably get more with the fj to be honest. If you stick an L back in more than likely it'll be bought almost as a rolling body to chuck an sr etc in. However my personal preference would be an L18sss engine with twin carbs for that oldschool look
