Post by Garth »

After a good sander for removing the paint off my sedan to give it a quick paint..anyone have or know somewhere you can hire a good sander? my hand held sander I have is going to take me about 20 years to do one panel...

I dont know where you'd hire one, but a good DA sander is the go. Bare in mind though, the pro's will finish it by hand though. The big thing is to stay with the shape of the panel. It's real easy to lose the shape if you strike any bog under the paint.
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............

Yeah Ive decided to do it the long but best looking way. went out last night and brought myself some sanding blocks and a whoooole lot of sand paper! will take time but will be the best way for me to do a decent job. The plan is to do the best job I can, and then one day when I have heaps of money I will pay a pro to do it! Going to be some fun late nights in the garage with my beloved 1200

The trick is, to not be in a hurry, put an album on that you like, take it easy, and rub to the beat. Enjoy the non pressure situation. Be at one with the paint and bog, and you will achieve what you desire. Failing that, pay someone else to do it.
