I am currently reframing from typing a large bunch of obscene words. This post is just because I feel the need to vent and I thought you guys might have had similar experiences. Heres the story, after having my 280z for a few years now and it always passing warrents today I realized it had lapsed so I got my mechanic to run it through so she would be all legal for some nice summer drives only to find that most of the left hand Chassis rail is so rusty you can poke your finger though it. This has never been picked up before due to the fact that some SLACK LAZY C**T before me had done a quick patch up with undersealer. On the upside I have the skills to fix it but had I not been in the trade Im in this could be a really expensive repair job for someone else. I HATE YOU HALF ASSES OF THE WORLD!
RANT OVER
Mission on for Kiakora hopefully I will see you there!!
thanks for listening.........reading

Re: Half Arse Wankers!!
I totally agree!! I spent ALL day at work fixing things and digging/kicking rotten clumpy feed out of hoppers (automatic fish feed systems) that haven't been used in over a month because SOMEONE couldn't take the time to empty them out properly when the smolt were moved. RRRGH. It's like "Ok, fish are gone...lets just deal with what we're using right now and not bother to break down when we're done". This is why we spend the whole month of December fixing sh*t and cleaning...no one ever thinks keep it clean it won't be a months worth of work all at once (this is THE problem with such a seasonally varying job).
I'll look forward to seeing yet another Z at Kaikoura, I do love the shape of an old body design (new cars are all shaped the same there's nothing interesting anymore, aside from those ugly as boxes driving around).

Re: Half Arse Wankers!!
My whole 510 was done the same. Everything patched with bog, tape, plastic bags and newspaper. So I feel ya dude. Only thing to do is take the positive out of it that you now know (when you have finished the repairs) that the chassis rail is mint. No need to worry about that in the near future
My orangatang 510 here.

I fixed some rust on vetys Hillman and there was a small wee hole there started poking it with the screw driver and it had been pumped full of seam sealer. Ended up replacing a patch about 100mm long
